Rishikesh y el segundo intento de trekking

La fuerza ha dejo de estar a nuestro lado. Aunque seguimos descubriendo cosas nuevas, increibles y apasionantes del pais, empezamos a sentir los efectos del tute de viaje que nos hemos pegado! No sufrais, que no es nada grave! Pero hemos intentado movernos demasiado rapido en un pais donde tomar decisiones, comprar billetes y viajar es increiblemente fatigante, tanto fisicamente como psicologicamente.

Nuestro segundo intento de trekking tambien a fracasado. Desde Rishikesh, despues de 10horas de bus, conseguimos llegar a Govingath, el punto de salida. Pero a medio subir hasta los 3000m de Gangeria, pueblo desde donde ibamos a explorar la valle de las flores y la cima del Hem Kund (4300 y lugar de peregrinaje de los Sikh), a Siri se le acabaron las fuerzas. Una vez en el pueblo nos encontramos con 200millones de peregrinos Sikh y con la unica opcion de quedarnos en la habitacion mas asquerosa, fria y cara del viaje. Nuestro covijo no ayudo mucho a Siri y pasamos una noche para recordar, mas bien para olbidar! Al dia siguiente decidimos que lo mas sensato era volver a bajar a Govingath y el dia despues llegamos hasta Rishikesh.

Nos hemos quedado 5 dias en Rishikesh, descansado y recuperando fuerzas para poder continuar las 3 semanas que nos quedan. Aunque todo sea dicho, ya empezamos a tener ganas de volver la civilizacion!


Pero la vida sigue siendo bella y siempre pasan cosas buenas. Como pasar una noche en un centro de peregrinaje Sikh, donde tubimos que cubrirnos la cabeza como ellos. Aprender un monton sobre su cultura. Hicimos cola y nos peleamos por un plato de comida con ellos. Y nos sentimos como estrellas del rock, porque todos querian hacerse fotos con nosotros... foto por aqui, encajada de manos por ahi... muy divertido! La subida hasta el pueblo fue entreteida, entre las fotos, los personajes, las cosas que cargan los "porters" (machotes que cargan hasta otras personas en sus espaldas y suben montanas). Y tambien disfrutamos de bajar en burro hasta Govingath, con una vista increible y un dolor increible, ya os imaginais donde! Rishikesh fue un buen lugar para hacer foticos y mojar los pies en el sagrado Ganges!


May the force come back to us?!?!! Because now, eventhough we still discover new and incredible things about this country, the wild and long trip we have done it'is really catching up to us. But don't worry, it's nothing serious!! We think we have been trying to move to fast in a coutry where making decitions, buying tickets and travelling its incredibly exhausting, both physicicaly and physicologicly.

Our second trekking atemp also failed. From Rishikesh, after 10hours by bus, be got to Govingath, the starting point. But half way up to Gangeria (3000m and town from where we were going to explore the Valley of flowers and Hem Kund (4300m and Sikh religion pilgrimages destination)) Siri ran out of strenght. We reached a town full of Sikhs and with the only place to stay as the dirtiest, coldest and most expensive room of the whole trip. That piece of paradise didn't help Siri get much better and we had one of those ights to be remembered, or in fact to be forgotten! The next day we, wisely, decided to go back down to Govingath and the day after we reached Rishikesh.

We stayed 5 days in Rishikesh, resting and recovering for the last 3 weeks of traveling. Eventhough, we are starting to look forward to get back to civilization!


But life it's still beautifull and there is plenty of good things that happened. Like spending one night in a Sikh pilgrimage acomodation center, where we had to cover our heads like their religion says. We learn a whole buch about them, we cued and fought for dinner with them, and we took thousands of pictures with them! Nice people the Sikhs! (It was also funny to say that my girlfriend was Sick... I got lots of funny looks!). We enjoyed a wonderfull ride down on donkeys, amazing views and amazing pain in the ass! And Rishikesh was a fun place for pictures and for dipping the feet on the holy Ganga!!
