Poca cosa a destacar de Delhi... gran ciudad, muchos monumentos, calles muy anchas, gente con poca gracia y ambiente extrano... por contra, tubimos una habitacion estupenda, con tele incluida, perfecto para no perderme detalle de la Eurocopa!!
Lo tomamos con calma, visitamos las cosas imperdibles y el resto del tiempo nos dedicamos a pasear por los bazares, comer y dormir... De lo turistico, descubriendo Old Delhi aprovechamos para visitar el Lal Qila (Fuerte rojo) y la Jama Masjid (La Gran Mezquita). El fuerte es muuuy grande y poco mas... nada del otro mundo y poco vistoso. La Gran Mezquita, tambien muy grande, pero mucho mas impresionante.
Otro dia nos aventuramos con el metro y nos fuimos hasta el barrio musulman, vimos otra mezquita y luego nos fuimos a la tumba de Humayund, un mausoleo del mismo estilo, pero previo al Taj Mahal. Acabamos tomando algo por el Connaught Sq, la plaza central de Delhi, observando las familias que disfrutaban de un parque al puro estilo "Maremagnum".
Delhi no es maravilloso, pero es curioso de ver...
Little to say about Delhi... big city, lots of monuments, wide streets, few charming folk and strange atmosphere... we did have a cool room, with Tv to follow the Eurocup!!
We really took it easy, visited the unmissable atractions and spent the rest of the time shopping, eating and sleeping... We walked around Old Delhi and visited teh Lal Qila (Red fort) and the Jama Majid (Big Mosque). The fort it's big in size but little in content.. lacks lots of charm! On the other hand the Mosque, it's also huge, but pretty amazing aswell!!
Another day we jumped on the metro and worked our way to the Muslim quarter. Visited another mosque and then went to Humayunds Tomb, mausoleum of the same style that Taj Mahal, but previous. We ended the day walking around Connaught Sq, the main posh square in Delhi, observing the local families enjoy their sunday night picnic in a huge shopping mall like park.
Delhi is not great, but its worth to see...
